University of Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan Water Chemistry and Ecology Laboratory (SaskWatChe)

This facility provides baseline and time-sensitive data on aquatic ecosystem ecology and biogeochemistry, specifically, that aids in understanding the effects of changing climate and nutrient loads on aquatic ecology and biogeochemistry.

Lab Equipment & Services

Vial evacuation and flushing (Exetainer flushing for GHG analysis)
SWCEL-ML-1
Filtration #
SWCEL-ML-3

Routine analyses, fast analyses
SWCEL-ML-4 Level 1
Routine analyses
SWCEL-ML-5 Level 2
Routine analyses, more time consuming, require digestion
SWCEL-ML-6 Level 3
Challenging matrices
SWCEL-ML-7

GHG analysis (CH4, CO2, N2O) in exetainer vials (capable of low level analyses for all gases)
SWCEL-ML-2

MIMS (use and access) for analysis of N2, Ar, O2 (including high accuracy water baths for calibration)
